*2017 players need to have a fundamental skill level.

EUROPEAN SKATING AND HOCKEY SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

Using a wide variety of innovative methods, our attention will be directed to areas of skating, agility, puck-handling, speed, passing, shooting and checking. Students will learn about stride, edge control, footwork as well as advanced skills in puck-handling with rotations, rolls, pulls, shifts an extensions. Two-dimensional, two sided symmetrical asymmetrical development will challenge the body and skater to their limits and beyond. Students will also learn about release, accuracy, and different techniques of shooting. Furthermore, they will participate in 1 on 1’s and 2 on 1’s to develop their defensive (checking, playing the man) and offensive (faking, deking) abilities.

DEFENCEMAN AND FORWARD'S PROGRAM

For the past 9 years, the format of this program is to be very efficient, challenging and successful in the development of hockey skills specific to playing certain positions on ice. During the camp, defencemen and forwards will sometimes be separated (into 2 groups) to be taught skills specific to their positions. Needless to say, our defencemen and forwards will have plenty of opportunities to confront their abilities against each other and will be used to compete against players from the opposite positions of themselves. Here, many hockey situations will be used to learn and work on details of scoring as well as preventing goals. This camp also exposes our students to drills designed to teach and encourage the defencemen offensive skills and (vice versa) the offensemen how to understand his defensive responsibilities, all in the light of becoming the best hockey player.

ULTIMATE SCORING AND STICK-HANDLING PROGRAM

Everything about putting the puck in the net, improving scoring and decision making abilities. Students will spend their time working on different ways of shooting and also on reading the movement of goalies and defencemen, tipping, deflecting, passing, deking, faking, camouflaging, staying “open”. Obviously plenty of time will be spent on improving their puck-handing abilities with work on shifting, rotating, pulling, as well as improving their skating speed and skater’s ability. This program wouldn’t be complete without many confrontational situations that our students will complete in order to challenge and further develop their hockey skills.
